We are proud to be a Silver-level sponsor of Together for Cinema and have worked alongside them for many years in order to use our skills to give back.
Together for Cinema is an AV industry good cause ‘Community Interest Company’ that designs and installs home cinema rooms in children's hospices and other suitable locations across the UK. These rooms benefit not only the children and young adults, but also their families, carers, staff, and volunteers.
In 2019 with Together for Cinema we designed and installed our first state of the art cinema room at Derian House and now children and young people confined to wheelchairs, or even hospital beds, will be able to enjoy the full cinematic experience alongside their family and friends, without leaving the building.
The ethos at Derian House is to ensure that every child and young person who comes to the hospice can make the most of the time they have. The hospice has a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room, soft play area, large inclusive playground suitable for wheelchair users, a sensory garden full of the sights, smells, and textures of nature, and now, a state-of-the-art cinema room.
Derian House helps children and young people with life limiting conditions, to create happy memories in an environment of fun, respect, and high-quality care. The charity provides respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people aged 0-25 from across the North West.

When you have a child with a life-limiting condition, simple things such as going to the cinema as a family can often seem impossible. Juggling accessibility issues, care needs and the needs of siblings means that our families often miss out.
At Derian House, we do our very best to ensure our families get the same opportunities as everyone else. When I asked our Events and Promotions Manager to look into cinema options, I had no idea if it would even be possible. Together For Cinema is a fantastic charity and we are so grateful to have received this wonderful gift of a fully accessible cinema room. Our families can now book in for movie nights – complete with popcorn and snacks - enjoying precious time together making memories. Thank you!”
