What is Crestron Home?

Traditionally if you wanted the best-in-class functionality and reliability of Crestron hardware, you were reliant on the quality of your smart home specialists in-house programmer or subcontractor to deliver the perfect solution for you. We have 15 years experience of providing global award wining custom Crestron programming and have an in-house framework which we have iterated on over the years to provide what we believe is the best custom Crestron experience out there.

The benefits of a custom Crestron program is the almost limitless versatility meaning if a given piece of equipment can be controlled, then we can make it part of your Crestron system.

This versatility and customisation however, comes at a price. Significant time and resources go into creating these custom programs but now with Crestron Home, we have another option to offer clients.

Crestron Home is a new operating system, which runs on the dedicated home processor, but aside from that uses all of the same Crestron hardware. Rather than needing a bespoke program, Crestron Home systems are configured within a more rigid set of constraints. So whilst we wouldn't be able to use Crestron Home for a car turntable controller or multi window gaming system, the needs of a lot of our clients fit nicely within the Crestron Home constrains.

Benefits Of Crestron Home

There are two major benefits to Crestron Home, the first and most obvious one is cost. As there is no custom programming required, Crestron Home systems are a lot quicker to set up and test. They are also quicker to make adjustments and changes in future, all of which result in lower programming and professional services fees. The other major benefit is the fluidity and graphics transitions that can be made within a native application.
